Krav Maga : training prinicples

The traing principles of Krav Maga are nothing but to defend oneself against attacks, using easyto-use and practical applications taken from many other traditional martial arts like Boxing, Karate, Wing Chun, Aikido etc. It trains and develops natural responses, instinct-based responses,unexpected actions, explosive movements, simultaneous Defence-and-counterattack, incorporated with physical conditioning (weight training available).

Fighting tacticts should be desined from the natural response of a person whcih should be understand from common street fight scenarios.

  • ● Be based on instincts/reactions.
  • ● Address the immediate danger.
  • ● Be simple and usable by people of different strengths and body sizes.
  • ● Work from a position of disadvantage or poor state of readiness.
  • ● Target weak points of the offender while protecting vital parts of own body
  • ● Include a simultaneous counterattack to neutralize further attacks.
  • ● Be comprehensive enough to cover a wide variety of scenarios.

Level 1 - Basic: One month intensive training curriculum
(duration 16 hour)

The curriculum at this level introduces basic escapes from various scenarios that people might in their day to day life’s– the bread & butter of self-defence. You’ll also learn how to deal with common chokes and headlocks. In addition, the techniques here offer a clear representation of the principles of Krav Maga-ideas such as explosive movements, instinct-based responses, and simultaneous Defence-and-counterattack, incorporated with physical conditioning.

  • Passive Neutral Stance, Fighting Stance, Positioning body in relation with defense/attack
  • ● Straight Strikes
  • Straight Punch – Lead Hand, Straight Punch – Rear Hand, Straight Punch with Advance, Straight Punch with Retreat, Straight Punch to the Body, Palm Heel Striking – Lead hand, Palm Heel Striking - Rear Hand, Eye Strikes, Wind pipe strikes (throat strikes)
  • ● Defences Techniques
  • Defensives techniques against punch, Kicks , grabs, chokes
  • ● Wrist Grab Releases
  • Wrist Release: Same Side Hand held with 1 hand, Opposite Hand held with 1 hand, Same Side Hand held with 2 hands, both hands
  • ● Takedown Defences
  • Basic Double leg tackle Defence, Basic Defence against being thrown
  • ● Escapes from ground fighting
  • Getting Up with One Hand, Front Kick from the Ground, Escape from ground choke, Full mount, scape from ground and pound

Level 2 - Advanced: Two months intensive training curriculum
(duration 32 hour)

This curriculum will include revision of all the contents of the one (1) month course and the students will learn basic striking techniques that will neutralize a fight within seconds.

  • Upper chop, Straint chop, Reverse chop, Diagonal chop, Hammerfist to the Side, Forward Hammerfist
  • ● Snatch defense/attack
  • Snatch the punch and gaurding hand to off-balance and counter attack
  • ● Knees and Kicks
  • Front Kick to the Groin, Front Knee thrust to the Groin, Push/Thrust Kick – Rear leg
  • ● Elbow strikes
  • Horizontal High Elbow Strike, Sideways Elbow Strike, Horizontal Elbow Strike Backward, Reverse Elbow Strike Backward Low, Uppercut Elbow Strike, Sideways upward Elbow Strike, Downward Elbow Strike
  • ● Grappling techniques and defense
  • Single and both-hand grappling, hand grabing & locking, Hip grab, leg grab, neck grab
  • ● Take Downs
  • Take down against punches, grappling, knife attacks

In-addition to the above, basic movements and techniques while facing multiple opponents and opponents with weapons will be given along with the do’s & don’ts.
